Germany: Campylobacter & Food Risks Above Normal

Disease forecaster Ascel Bio notes that the rate of campylobacter, a common gastrointestinal illness in Germany, increased sharply in the last reported week.  While risk is forecast by Ascel Bio to peak in July, cases have been above forecast expectations for significant periods already in 2016.  Increased food contamination and diagnostic sensitivity are potential reasons for this spike.
