The Ebola outbreak has been contained without international spread or the need to declare a Public Health Outbreak of International Concern. This is good news. As of June 30th, the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is reportedly well contained. The outbreak end will be declared in less than 21 days (a total of 42 days after the last reported Ebola case) if no new Ebola cases emerge. An experimental vaccine has been given to 3,300 people and over 1,700 contacts of Ebola cases have been tracked.
